Description
Fishmans made their major debut in 1991 during the band boom era as the first artist signed to "Virgin Japan". As a rock band influenced by reggae, rocksteady, and dub, they left behind numerous iconic songs. Among them, "Ikareta Baby" has become an anthem covered by countless artists, known and unknown, not only within the lovers' rock scene but also beyond.
Though their activity ceased in 1999 following the passing of vocalist Shinji Sato, the band resumed performances in 2005 at the RISING SUN ROCK FESTIVAL, with drummer Kin-ichi Motegi taking on main vocal duties, alongside guest vocalists for occasional live events.
This box set chronicles the band’s journey through sound. Under the direction of Kin-ichi Motegi, rare recordings from their early days, radio performances, unreleased live tracks, and demo tapes were meticulously archived over two years, digitized from cassette tapes, DATs, and multitrack tapes. The set includes in-depth commentary on every track, drawn from interviews with Motegi himself.
