Hikaru Utada’s two albums, released under the name “Utada” via Island Def Jam Music Group, have been remastered and are now available on LP for the first time!
Includes lyrics and translations / 180g heavyweight vinyl.
This is her second U.S. album, released in 2009. Produced by Stargate (NE-YO, Rihanna, Beyoncé, and others) and Tricky Stewart (Britney Spears, Madonna, Mariah Carey, and others).
The album reached No. 69 on the US album chart, making her the first Japanese artist to enter the top 100 of that chart in 23 years—since Loudness’s “Lightning Strikes” peaked at No. 64.
The album includes her debut single “Come Back to Me,” which reached No. 5 on the U.S. Dance Club Songs chart, and “Merry Christmas, Mr. Lawrence - FYI,” which samples a piece by Ryuichi Sakamoto and references the film “Merry Christmas, Mr. Lawrence”.
