Description
The most widely known and iconic work of Shintaro Katsu is likely Zatoichi. This series gained popularity in Japan during the 1960s and 1970s and became internationally recognized after Takeshi Kitano's 2003 remake. Alongside his acting career, Shintaro Katsu also released numerous albums as a singer, and now, his 1968 album Utaimakuru Shintaro Katsu from Daiei Film is being reissued on vinyl for the first time in 56 years. The album includes two newly added tracks, "Akunou Kawachi Ondo" and "Sunny," which were originally featured on a popular single. This album offers a different side of Shintaro Katsu, showcasing his depth and charm in contrast to the rugged yet glamorous persona he portrayed in many of his films.
