Description
On November 6, 2026, audiences worldwide will experience Joe Hisaishi’s The Boy & The Heron: Symphonic Suite for Piano and Orchestra, a concert adaptation of the acclaimed score for Hayao Miyazaki’s Academy Award-winning final masterpiece, The Boy and the Heron. The fourteen-piece suite offers Hisaishi's personal interpretation of the film, following Mahito’s emotional journey through grief, memory, and imagination. Balancing intimate piano writing with rich orchestral textures, the work showcases Hisaishi’s distinctive voice as composer, pianist, and storyteller. Created through an unusually open collaboration, Miyazaki gave Hisaishi exceptional artistic freedom after much of the animation had already been completed. The resulting score, among the composer’s most distinctive works, is centered on the piano as both narrator and emotional guide. Limited edition pressed on marbled color vinyl, black vinyl, and CD Digipak with booklet.
