Tremendously popular several years after its initial release, the Interstellar: Expanded Edition features music from the film by Zimmer, and is available as a deluxe 4xLP with a special etching. The Expanded Edition features additional music that was not available on the standard CD and digital releases of the original soundtrack.

Since the 1980s, Zimmer has composed music for over 150 films. He has won two Academy Awards for Best Original Score for The Lions King (1994) and Dune (2021).
