Dancecab Classics celebrates music that became iconic through arcade games. These releases spotlight the artists behind the songs players remember from countless hours in front of glowing screens and humming cabinets, presented in versions inspired by the experience of playing. Each entry honors the sound, influence, and legacy of arcade history, preserving the connection between music, play, and memory for a new generation of collectors.
The series continues with SMiLE.dk, whose cheerful melodies, playful pop hooks, and energetic Bubblegum Dance sound became an unforgettable part of arcade rhythm gaming. Best known for “Butterfly,” featured in Konami’s Dance Dance Revolution, SMiLE.dk helped create the soundtrack to a generation of dance game memories. Songs like “Boys,” “Mr. Wonderful,” and “Future Girls” bring that same spirit of colorful, infectious dance music to this collection.
For Dancecab Classics Volume 002, VGNYsoft presents twelve tracks on a single 12-inch LP, pressed on 140g Bubblegum Swirl vinyl. Featuring Veronica Almqvist as the sole vocalist, this officially licensed artist release revisits songs from the Forever album alongside two tracks making their debut on physical media. The collection reflects ten years of creative collaboration with producer and songwriter Chris Wolf, connecting familiar favorites with a continuing chapter in SMiLE.dk’s musical story.
Dancecab Classics Volume 002 SMiLE.dk Edition celebrates the music and the artist behind those arcade memories. As the second entry in the series, it celebrates the artists who helped make arcade dance music a culture of its own, bringing their songs from the dance platform to the turntable.
