Blue Prince’s moody atmosphere lends the game a kind of pensive, thoughtful loneliness. As you progress through Mount Holly, you find yourself walking in the footsteps of its long-gone previous inhabitants, almost able to sense their spirits floating just over your shoulder every time you stop to investigate your surroundings.
That mood, and most importantly, that sense of haunting solitude, comes largely thanks to the breakout indie hit’s stellar original score. Trigg & Gusset turned in a beautiful, atmospheric, orchestral soundscape that calls to mind mental images of nameless portraits hanging over crackling fireplaces and long forgotten drawing rooms, covered in a fine layer of dust, illuminated by Trigg & Gusset’s signature lonely bass clarinet.
iam8bit, along with our friends at Dogubomb and Raw Fury, are proud to present that soundtrack for you here, on warm, welcoming Classic Black Vinyl. This is the Blue Prince Original Soundtrack 2xLP, a two-disc sampling of Blue Prince’s best auditory offerings.
The album art from Stefan Große Halbuer is nothing short of brilliant, too; the gatefold presents the doorways and Entrance Hall of Mount Holly, while the inner sleeves depict some of the most iconic rooms you’ll find yourself traversing again and again in-game. The Entrance Hall’s floor has been polished and tastefully spot-glossed, too, for that extra bit of shine. It’s a must-have for any cultured puzzle-solver’s collection.
