Description

The 1994 Hong Kong comedy "Hail the Judge," starring Stephen Chow, is one of the representative works of Hong Kong film scores in the 1990s. It blends Chinese classical instruments with modern techniques. The film itself is set in the Qing Dynasty, and the score makes extensive use of erhu, flute, gongs and drums. The rhythm is light and the melody is comical. It is closely integrated with Stephen Chow's body language and rhythm. The opening theme song has a grand rhythm and is full of officialdom atmosphere, which brings out the "ambition" and contrast of the character Bao Longxing, played by Stephen Chow, when he first appears.
